Wangning Long is a senior engineer at Magma Design Automation, Inc., a leading software company for computer-aided design of integrated circuit.
In 2001, he joined Aplus Design Technologies, Inc., which was merged into Magma in July 2003. During the period of 1999 ~ 2001, he was a post doctoral researcher in VLSI CAD Lab of Computer Science Department, University of California, Los Angeles, in Prof. Jason Cong's group.
Mr. Long obtained his Ph. D. degree from the Dept. of Automation, Tsinghua University, China, in July 1997. He then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Dept. of Computer Science & Technology, Tsinghua University until he joined UCLA. In late 1998 and early 1999, he was a visiting research staff at the Dept. of Computer Sci. and Eng., the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Mr. Long's research interests are in the area of computer aided design of VLSI, including logic synthesis methodology, performance-driven logic and physical synthesis algorithms, automatic test pattern generation, and logic verification.
