I have quite a bit of fun with my Connectix QuickCam and PowerBook on vacations. As there's no film and no developing cost, taking shots is effectively free. Thus, I took tons of low-res greyscale shots. Fun fun fun!

Connectix also has a page on the web, which links to lots of other shots from other people playing with the camera..... |

In general, I've found that the QuickCam has trouble when there's too much light, and the shots taken outside are frequently washed out. Having a black-and-white PowerBook with a grey-scale camera is also a problem (gotta get a color PowerBook and a color QuickCam; maybe next paycheck....).
Fortunately, I've gotten a few hot tips from people surfing the web. See the travel page for more info....
Greyscale gets really trashed by NetScape. So--if it looks like the greyscale is only about 3 shades, try pulling it into another viewer; the shots are much better than what NetScape is showing....
