The NSF Directorate for Computer & Information Science and Engineering (CISE) will hold its first PI meeting for Expeditions in Computing projects on 14-16 May 2013 in Arlington, Virginia.  The three-day meeting, co-organized by Prof. Robert Wood of Harvard University and Prof. Jason Cong of UCLA, will feature NSF’s Expeditions program and provide an opportunity for PIs and NSF program directors to interact with each other, and with guests from industry and academia. The meeting will include an overview of existing Expeditions projects, panels on topics of large project management, outreach, and opportunities in additional NSF programs.

The PI meeting will showcase the fourteen Expeditions awards to the CISE community and to larger audiences from NSF, related funding agencies, industry and academia.  Since the PI meeting is scheduled in conjunction with the CISE Advisory Committee Meeting, we will be able to reach representatives from a broad cross-section of the CISE research community.  This is a unique opportunity to interact with the CISE leadership, as well as with leaders in both industry and academia. It also provides an important venue for establishing new collaborations between different teams, and exploring possible technology transfer and partnerships.
